About PriceWorld
PriceWorld is a free, independent global price comparison tool that tracks the purchasing power of money across 50+ countries and 40+ years of history. Our mission is simple: make it easy for anyone to understand how far their money goes in different parts of the world — and how that has changed over time.
We track six real-world price benchmarks: the Big Mac Index (a currency valuation tool created by The Economist in 1986), Starbucks Grande Latte prices (a premium consumer goods benchmark), YouTube Premium subscription costs (a digital purchasing power index), average city-center monthly rent (housing affordability), gasoline prices per liter (energy cost comparison), and national minimum wages (labor cost and worker protection index).
All prices can be converted into 8 currencies — USD, KRW, EUR, JPY, GBP, CNY, Bitcoin, and Ethereum — using annual average exchange rates, giving you a consistent view across years and economies. Historical data stretches back to 1986 for the Big Mac Index, making it possible to trace four decades of global economic shifts in a single view.
📊 Data Sources

🔄 How We Update
Data is reviewed and updated at least semi-annually. Prices marked with a tilde (~) are forward estimates based on published trends and analyst forecasts. 2025–2026 figures should be treated as indicative, not definitive. Historical data (pre-2024) is sourced from published records and is stable.
💡 How to Use This Tool
Select a price category from the tabs above, choose a year from the timeline, and pick your preferred currency. Sort by highest or lowest price, or search for a specific country. Each category has an explanatory section below the table with context, notable facts, and what the data reveals about global economic inequality.
